Board Vacancies

The Bishop Chamber of Commerce will have upcoming vacancies on its Board of Directors, as several current terms will expire on June 30, 2025. The Chamber is now inviting interested members to apply for consideration. To be included on the election ballot, please complete and submit the candidate form by May 5, 2025. Voting will take place via mail, and each member in good standing is entitled to one vote. Election results will be announced in June, and newly elected board members will begin their term on July 1, 2025.

About the Organization

The Bishop Chamber of Commerce is a local, non-profit 501(c)(6) organization that has proudly served the community since 1912. Its mission is to support business, tourism, and responsible recreation in ways that benefit our entire community.

The Chamber partners with hundreds of local businesses across all industries and collaborates with local, state, and national governments, agencies, and nonprofit organizations to address issues that directly impact our regional economy. We’re proud to support and produce projects and events that bring joy to our residents and attract visitors to our beloved “Small Town with a Big Back Yard.”

Through networking opportunities, educational events, and strategic initiatives, the Chamber strengthens the local business community and leads destination development efforts to position Bishop as a world-class destination.

Board of Directors Overview

The Bishop Chamber of Commerce is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, which provides strategic oversight and direction to Chamber staff. Board Members may be business owners, designated representatives of Chamber-member businesses, or individual Chamber members.

  • Term Length:
    • Elected Board Members: 4-year term
    • Appointed Board Members: 1-year term
  • Time Commitment:
    • Monthly Board Meetings (60–90 minutes)
    • Two annual Strategic Planning Meetings (approx. 4 hours each)
  • Optional Participation:
    • Attend Chamber luncheons, networking mixers, and volunteer at community events
